Tirta Gangga literally means water from the Ganges and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese. The king of Amlapura, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut built the water palace in 1947 and used it as one of his many weekend retreats. There are bathing spaces, pools and fountains, the water comes from natural spring water and is very cold. It is recommended to bring swim suits for a nice cool dip in the water to cleanse your mind and body.
